The Aggies (15-2) got 10 points from center Shawn Daniels (10), who also had two steals and a blocked shot in 23 minutes of play.
The Highlanders (6-11) were led by bench player Mark Vanta with eight points. UCR's leading scorer, Mark Miller (13.6 ppg), was held to four points.
USU made a 20-6 run at the beginning of the second half, with four 3-pointers, two by Bobb.
The Aggies also wore down the visiting Highlanders on defense, holding UCR to 28 percent field goal shooting in the game.
Neither team could find any continuity in a ragged first half, though USU jumped out to an early 10-2 lead.
There were 25 turnovers in the first half, UC-Riverside shot 23 percent and USU 35 percent in the half.
Bailey made two consecutive steals, one leading to a slam dunk by Brennan Ray and the other taken by Bailey for a layin.
The Aggies led 29-16 at the half.
The Highlanders are in their first year at the Division I level in basketball and are to join the Big West Conference for the 2001-02 season.
So far this season, they are 2-5 against BWC opponents, with five more Big
West games on the schedule.
