Team Notes

  • Utah State outrebounded Boise State 30-25 and is now 7-4 on the year and 32-13 under head coach Tim Duryea when winning the battle of the boards.

Individual Notes

  • Sophomore guard Sam Merrill scored in double figures for the 16th time this season and the 30th time in his career, finishing the game with 23 points. The total marked his fourth 20-plus scoring outing this season and fifth of his career.
  • Merrill tied a career high with nine field goals and set a new career high with five 3-point field goals.
  • Merrill finished the game with five rebounds, marking the third time this season and 10th time in his career logging five or more rebounds in a game.
  • Merrill also finished the game with a steal, marking the eighth time in the last nine games he has recorded at least one steal.
  • Junior guard DeAngelo Isby scored in double figures for the 10th time this season, finishing the game with 11 points.
  • Junior forward Dwayne Brown Jr. scored in double figures for the second consecutive game, and for the eighth time this season, finishing with 11 points.
  • Sophomore guard Koby McEwen scored in double figures for the seventh consecutive game, 11th time this season and for the 35th time in his career, finishing the game with 11 points.
  • McEwen also recorded a season-high eight rebounds, marking the fifth time he has led the team in rebounding.
  • Sophomore guard Diogo Brito tied his career high with seven rebounds.
