Utah State is now 2-3 in Mountain West play and 12-5 overall.
USU is now 1-4 this season when trailing at halftime, falling to 48-88 when trailing at intermission under head coach Stew Morrill.
USU is now 2-3 on the road this season, having lost its last three after starting 2-0 on road, and Utah State has won 30 of its last 51 road games and is 108-89 in road games under head coach Stew Morrill.
Saturday's loss snaps USU's six-game win streak in the series, and the Aggies still hold a 28-9 all-time record against the Broncos, and is BSU's first win in series since Feb. 14, 2009. USU is now 17-0 at home, 8-8 on the road and 3-1 on neutral courts. Overall, the Aggies have won 22 of the last 28 games in the series. USU head coach Stew Morrill is now 18-5 against Boise State while at USU and 24-11 all-time against the Broncos.
USU is now 114-37 against known teams from the state of Idaho, as well as 31-22 in known games played on Idaho soil. Utah State is 56-10 versus teams from the state of Idaho under head coach Stew Morrill.
Utah State is 94-33 during the month of January under veteran head coach Stew Morrill, which includes a 56-6 record at home and a 37-26 road record. This was USU's 10th game on a Saturday, its most-played on day of the week so far this season, posting a 6-4 mark on Saturdays, as part of 152-59 in games played on Saturday under Morrill. USU played on Jan. 18 for the first time since 2007, when the Aggies also played Boise State, winning, 80-79. Utah State is now 9-7 in known games played on Jan. 18.
USU's 23 rebounds Saturday were a season-low and the Aggies are now 3-2 this season when get out-rebounded, having had fewer rebounds than the opponent in each of the last two games and are 1-1 in those two game, beating Colorado State, 57-50, on Jan. 14, despite getting out-rebounded, 37-31.
BSU's 78 points scored is tied for the second-most allowed by USU, matching the 78-68 loss to Pacific on Dec. 7, and behind the 85 scored by BYU on Nov. 30.
Utah State is now 9-3 this season when scoring 70 or more points, having now won 101 of last 110 games when netting 70 or more and is 243-34 under head coach Stew Morrill when reaching 70 points.
USU's 51.9 percent (28-of-54) field goal shooting was its eighth game making at least half of its field goals, but was the first loss when doing so, as the Aggies are now 7-1 when shooting at least 50 percent from the field.
Utah State's 50.0 percent (9-of-18) three-point shooting was its sixth game making at least half of its three-pointers and was its first loss doing so, as USU is now 5-1 when making at least 50 percent behind the arc.
Senior center Jarred Shaw has now scored in double-digits in 10 games this season and 36th of his career, including his third 20-point game of season and 7th of career with his season-high tying 24 points Saturday.
With his five rebounds Saturday, Shaw has now snared five or more boards in his last seven games played and 11 times this season.
Senior guard Preston Medlin logged his 13th double-figure game this season and 58th of his career with his 16 points Saturday night.
Medlin also became the 24th player in Aggie history to surpass the 1,200 career points plateau, as he now has 1,203 points, and he needs just 13 points for the No. 23 spot held by Jay Goodman (1991-93) with 1,215 points.
Medlin's four three-pointers Saturday night was the ninth game in his last 10 with multiple three-pointers and his 13th multi-trey game this season and 58th of his career... It was also his fifth game with four or more triples this season.
Medlin now has 185 career three-pointers, moving up to No. 6 on USU's career three-pointers list, passing Justin Jones (1996-98) with 183.
Senior guard/forward Spencer Butterfield's 10 points Saturday was his 14th double-digit scoring outing this season and 33rd of his career.
Sophomore forward Kyle Davis led USU in rebounding for the team-leading 10th time this season with his eight boards Saturday... Davis now has collected six or more rebounds in each of his last 11 games and 12 times overall this season.
Sophomore guard Marcel Davis led USU in assists for the sixth time this season with five assists Saturday... It was his seventh game this season distributing four or more helpers.
