LARAMIE, Wyo. - Utah State men's basketball (13-12, 6-6 MW) lost at Wyoming (16-8, 7-4 MW) 83-65 on Wednesday night at the Arena-Auditorium.

Junior guard DeAngelo Isby came off the bench to score 16 points, along with two rebounds and an assist. Sophomore guard Sam Merrill had 12 points, two assists and a rebound. Three Aggies pulled down five or more boards, led by redshirt freshman forward Daron Henson with a career-high-tying six, followed by senior forward Alex Dargenton with five and sophomore guard Diogo Brito also with five.

Utah State opened the game with back-to-back threes from Henson and Isby, tying the score at 6-6 with 16:42 on the clock. An old-fashioned 3-point play by senior guard Julion Pearre squared the game again at 9-9 at the 15:32 mark, and another trey by Henson gave the Aggies their first lead of the half, 12-9, with 14:47 to play. Wyoming countered with a 12-point run, taking a 21-12 lead with 10:37 on the clock. A jumper from sophomore guard Koby McEwen with 7:10 on the clock pulled the Aggies to within four, 25-21, the closest the visitors came down the stretch in the first half. The Cowboys built a double-digit lead with just over two minutes to play in the first half and ultimately carried a 13-point advantage in the break, leading 46-33.

The Cowboys continued to build their lead, but a couple of Merrill treys brought the margin back to 14, 53-39, with 17:20 to go. A Pearre three and a Dargenton layup cut the lead to 13, 57-44, with 14:29 on the clock. Wyoming then used an 11-3 run to lead by 21, 68-47, with 9:22 to go. Isby ended the run with a dunk, scoring 12 of the Aggies' next 13 points over a five-minute period in which Wyoming led by as many as 25, 76-51, with 6:46 left to play. A free throw from redshirt freshman guard Abel Porter and layups from Brito and Porter brought the Aggies within 18, 83-65, to finish the game.

Senior forward Hayden Dalton had 27 points, six rebounds, one assist and a block for Wyoming. Junior guard Justin James added 14 points, six assists, four boards and three steals.
