Utah State Edges Cal-State Fullerton, 58-46
Feb. 10, 2001
The game made the Aggies (21-3, 9-1 Big West) one of only six teams in the nation with 20 wins or more. USU also has a 29-1 mark against Big West opponents over the last two years.
Daniels also led USU in scoring Thursday night in a victory against UC-Irvine and has only missed two shots in two games, shooting a combined 15-of-17.
Fullerton (3-18, 2-9) was led in scoring by Ryan Dillon with 17. Dillon shot 6-of-11 on the night, including a 3-pointer as the final buzzer sounded.
When the Aggies mixed up their defense, the Titans' shooting suffered. They often forced up shots as the 35-second clock ran down.
The Titans shot 31 percent from the field in the game, only 25 percent the second half. The Aggies shot 47 percent and were credited with six steals against USF.
The Titans led much of the first half, until they hit a dry spell at the 7:47 mark and went more than seven minutes without a field goal. A buzzer-beating shot by Rock gave USU a 36-26 halftime edge.
USU plays their next three games on the road, before finishing out the season at home with two games the first week of March.
