Utah State Head Coach Stew Morrill...
"It is pretty obvious that we are good enough to play in a lot of close games; we are not good enough to win them. That is something that has happened to us a lot, we were up by a point and got outscored 15-3. We turned it over, get bad and take bad shots, that is totally my responsibility. They turned up the heat a little bit with their athleticism, and we couldn't get anything done. They made the plays that they needed to make, and we couldn't even run our offense. It was disappointing. We haven't played great, but we had battled to go a head by one point and from that point on, everything that could've gone wrong, went wrong. It's disappointing because it just keeps happening, with three or four minutes to go we are right there, we are in a position where we can win and we don't make plays."
Freshman guard/forward Danny Berger...
"We let them get too many offensive rebounds and didn't box out enough. They're big, and we just needed to box them out better. We had it for a stretch there, and then just let it go. We just need to stay with it and be aggressive."
New Mexico State Head Coach Marvin Menzies...
"I just like the way we executed during adversity. There were times where they hit big threes and took the lead on us late. It was just one of those nip-tuck games, a lot of lead changes. I was just happy our guys fought through it and through the adversity and the crowd. The crowd here is just amazing, the student section especially. They have by far the best home court advantage in the conference, so I was a little concerned about that with our young guys."
