Utah State is now 5-7 in Mountain West play and 15-9 overall, winning its last three games, its longest MW win streak of the season.
USU is now 3-5 on the road this season, as Tuesday was the Aggies' first road MW win after five losses, as well as going 2-0 on the road before conference play. Utah State has won 31 of its last 55 road games and is 109-91 in road games under head coach Stew Morrill.
USU head coach Stew Morrill now has 599 career wins, needing one more to become the 14th active Division I head coach and the 41st all-time Division I head coach with 600 wins. Tuesday's Aggie victory gave Morrill 301 career conference wins, with 49 at Montana, 61 at Colorado State and currently 191 at Utah State.
Utah State and Colorado State met for the 89th time in school history, which is USU's fifth-oldest rivalry in school history. The Aggies and Rams, who also used to be known as Aggies, first met during the 1925-26 season, with USU winning, 39-23. Tuesday was USU's first trip to Fort Collins since Jan. 3, 1998. Utah State now holds a 54-35 series advantage. The Aggies' 57-50 win earlier this season on Jan. 15 snapped the Rams' five-game win streak in the series. USU is now 6-17 in known games played at Fort Collins, as Tuesday's win snapped a four-game losing streak there, as the Aggies' previous win at CSU was on Jan. 14, 1976, 72-62.
Morrill is now 5-1 in the USU-CSU series as he is currently 2-1 in the series as the Aggies' head coach and he was 3-0 against USU during his time at Colorado State.
Utah State is now 12-5 on the season when it out-rebounds its opponent as it had a 40-27 advantage Tuesday, for its fourth rebounding advantage in a row and second double-digit in the last three.
Utah State improved to 12-3 this season and has won 104 of its last 113 games when scoring at least 70 points, and is now 246-34 under Morrill when scoring at least 70 points in a game.
USU is now 13-1 this season when leading at the half, and has won 97 of its last 100 games when leading at the break... Over the last 14 years, USU is 304-26 when holding an intermission advantage.
Utah State is now 81-33 during the month of February under Morrill, including a 32-25 on the road.
USU is 3-1 this season on Tuesdays and 26-9 in games played on Tuesday under Morrill.
The Aggies are now 5-8 in known games on Feb. 11, playing on the date for the second time in three years.
Medlin's 18 points Tuesday move him up to No. 16 on USU's career scoring list, now w/ 1,293 career points... Medlin started the night at No. 19 with 1,275 points, passing Spencer Nelson (1999, 2003-05) with 1,283 points forNo. 18, Shaler Halimon (1967-68) with 1,284 points for No. 17 and Mike Santos (1975-78) with 1,287 points.
Medlin netted 18 points Tuesday, for his sixth-straight double-figure scoring game, as well as his 19th game this season and 64th time in his career.
Medlin has hit a three-pointer in 21 games this season and in 40 of his last 45 games played... He also has multiple three-pointers in each of his last three games and five of his last six as part of 18 times this season and 63 times in his career.
Senior guard/forward Spencer Butterfield posted double-digit points for the fourth game in a row and 19 times this season and 38 of last 47 games played with his 12 points Tuesday.
Butterfield's two three-pointers Tuesday give him 100 for his career, becoming the 12th Aggie player with 100 career three-pointers.
Butterfield also has 15 multiple three-pointers games this season, including nine of last 13 games as part of 29 career multi treys.
Sophomore forward Kyle Davis posted double-figures for the third-straight game and 11th in the last 17 games and 12 total times.
Senior center Jarred Shaw snared double-digit rebounds for the third game in a row and the sixth time this season... However, it was the first time this season pulling down double-figure rebounds that he did not score in double-figures for a double-double, as he had eight points Tuesday.
