SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - Tony Brown scored 16 points as Utah State defeated UC Santa Barbara 71-48 in a Big West Conference game on Thursday night.

Utah State (22-3, 11-1), trailing by two early, went on a 21-4 run to take a 34-19 lead with 13:30 left. The Aggies held the Gauchos to only two field goals for the remainder of the first half.

UC Santa Barbara (10-12, 7-5) used an 11-5 run to open the second half, cutting the deficit at 41-32.

But Utah State answered with a 13-2 run in the next six minutes to go up by 20 points.

Dion Bailey contributed 12 points for the Aggies, which forced 18 turnovers.

Mike Vukovich led the Gauchos with 10 points.
