Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

USU head coach Tim Duryea:
"We were excellent in the first half. Offensively, we were excellent. Defensively, we had some good stretches, but just okay. Then in the second half, when they decided to make a run — they're going to make a run and did make a run — we showed no mental toughness, no physical toughness, no poise, just everything it takes to win a road game, we showed none of it. Just really disappointed in our emotional response, our physical response and our team response to their run. They pressured us in the second half. They pressured us in the first half, but Diogo (Brito), Quinn (Taylor), Daron (Henson) and Dwayne (Brown Jr.) all stepped up and made plays, made shots. Sam (Merrill) and Koby (McEwen), obviously, chipped in, too. Second half, nobody produced. You get those guys open shots, 3-point shots, shots at the basket and nobody produced. Then we had no response defensively in response to that. Just a really, really disappointing overall response to their run."

USU sophomore guard Koby McEwen:
"We came out strong. In transition, a little sloppy on the defensive end all game. We have to take care of the ball in the second half and we have to be tougher with the ball. We have to make basketball plays and whatever the coach calls, the coach calls. If they defend the action, the rest of us have to be basketball players and make plays. Starting with me, I don't think we did enough of that. That's why we lost the game. And we missed a lot of free throws. That's on me as well. We're going to go back to Logan and try to figure this thing out."
