Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

Utah State head coach Tim Duryea
"As far as senior nights go, that was unexpected on one hand but you couldn't draw it up any better than that. I'm thrilled for Jalen (Moore) I thought he played tremendously well. Shane (Rector) had a great night as well. I could not be happier for Connor Garner. I'm so happy for him. Good things happen to good people and they don't come any better than Connor. Our whole locker room was elated for him. Our tone was set early on, our first defensive possession, we got a shot-clock violation and they were throwing everything at us. Back cuts, ball screens, flare screens and we handled it all and got a shot-clock violation. That set the tone defensively. Offensively, Shane, Sam and Koby had 20 assists and three turnovers. We played really well offensively. We settled in and made a lot of really simple plays. When you do that, you shoot a high percentage and score a lot of points."

On Connor Garner...
"We didn't run anything special for him to get over 10 points. We were just playing our motion offense and if something good happened, that would be good. Usually in those situations if you try and put a guy in a position like that and spotlight him, it usually doesn't turn out real well. Connor was playing just fine. That's how he plays on the scout team. He shoots it in and he's a good player. He did a great job. He did a great job on the other end too, that's what you worry about with a guy like that who doesn't have any game experience. A system like that, which is extremely hard to guard, he did a tremendous job."

Utah State senior guard Shane Rector
"We came out really aggressive tonight. We dropped one at their house, and that was on everyone's mind, plus senior night. The guys wanted to send us out right."

On playing well through senior emotions...
"Not only was it senior night, we still have something to play for. These last couple of games determine where we place for the tournament. With senior night and in the back of our heads that these games mean something, everybody was ready to go tonight."

Senior wing Jalen Moore
"It was a fun game. Everyone came out and played hard offensively and defensively. I have to give Connor Garner a shout out. The guy doesn't play, comes out and hits three 3's, he even got himself a heat check in there. I was proud of Connor and how he played. I was proud of Shane (Rector). Us seniors, we played hard, it was a great way to end our careers. It felt great to go out on a win like that. We're winning right now, that's always good, we're feeling good and playing well."

On senior night...
"It was really fun. The crowd was great tonight. A lot of student support, I recognized a lot of faces. I had a lot of people from my family here, that means the world to me. To play like I did for my last game in front of friends and family, especially for my last game in the Spectrum. As a kid I always had a dream of playing here. To end it like this, with the career that I've had, it feels great. It's awesome to go home and have a brother and parents that are proud of what I did in my college career. I learned a lot from everyone here. It was a great four years for me. It's been a great experience in my life."

Air Force head coach Dave Pilipovich:
"They (Utah State) were really good tonight and let's give credit to them first. I thought they were really on their game on Senior Night here at home with a great crowd and atmosphere. We gave them momentum early by going the first four possessions with three turnovers. We had scoring opportunities, ball screen-and-roll and a slip on the screen, but we didn't capitalize on those. They then went on a run, draining 3s and they really stretched us in our zone. We then went man-to-man and their ball-screen action got some scoring opportunities. Their size bothered us at times, and it was the size on the perimeter to be honest with you. Their guards were bigger and they kept us in front and we weren't able to drive and penetrate."
