TEAM NOTES

• With its 37-31 rebounding edge Saturday, Utah State is now 16-8 when out-rebounding the opposition, doing so in each of the last 12 games.

• USU's 46 points Saturday were its season-low.

• Utah State's 30.4 percent (14-of-46) was its sixth game shooting less than 40 percent.

• USU's 31.6 percent three-point percentage (6-of-19) marked the fourth time this season that the Aggies had a better percentage behind the arc than total field goal percentage, including both meetings with UTA, also doing so in the meeting earlier this season at Logan on Jan. 24, as well as vs. UC Davis (Dec. 21) and Southern Illinois (Dec. 22).

• Utah State has now won 46 of its last 60 WAC games (.767) and is 72-22 (.766) against teams from the WAC during the last six seasons. Overall, USU has a 92-34 (.730) regular-season WAC record in its eight years in the league.

• USU is now 7-5 on the road this season, after Thursday's loss at Louisiana Tech snapped a three-game WAC road win streak for the Aggies.

• Utah State has won 28 of its last 46 road games (.609) and is 106-86 (.552) in road games under veteran head coach Stew Morrill, including 75-49 (.605) record against conference opponents and a 38-24 (.613) mark against WAC teams.

• Utah State is 51-25 (.671) in the month of March under Morrill, which includes a 9-5 (.643) road record.

• The Aggies are 12-3 (.800) in games played on Saturday this season... USU is 145-55 (.725) in games played on Saturday under head coach Stew Morrill.

• USU played on the second day of the third month for the second time in the last three years, last playing on March 2 in 2011 and winning at New Mexico State, 58-54... Overall, USU is now 10-5 (.667) all-time in known games played on March 2.

 

 

• Utah State is now 26-12 (.714) all-time against teams from the state of Texas as it is 8-1 against North Texas, 2-0 against Houston Baptist, TCU and Texas, 2-1 versus Texas Tech, 1-0 against Baylor, Lamar, Midwestern State, Texas Southern and WAC newcomers UTSA and Texas State, 1-1 against Houston, 1-2 versus UT Arlington and Texas A&M, 1-4 against UTEP and 1-1 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

• In making their first-ever visit to Arlington, the Aggies are now 2-1 in Texas this season... Overall, USU is 12-7 (.632) in known games played on Texas soil.

PLAYER NOTES

• Freshman Marcel Davis posted his eighth game this season in double-digits with a team-high 15 points Saturday.

• It was the third time this season that Davis has led the team in scoring.

• Junior guard TeNale Roland made his first start since Dec. 8, after starting the first seven games of the season.

• Roland logged double-digits for the third-straight game and fifth total time this season with 12 points Saturday.

• Roland posted his third-straight game with five or more rebounds, as he posted career-high seven boards Thursday at LA Tech, with his six rebounds Saturday.

• With three three-pointers Saturday, Roland tied his second-high for the second time in three games, also making three triples in the Illinois State game on Feb. 23, and Roland now has seven games with multiple three-pointers.

• Roland also played a career-high 40 minutes, having topped his career-high in playing minutes in each of the last two games after playing 30 minutes Thursday at LA Tech.

• Junior center Jarred Shaw, a Dallas, Texas native, netted 11 points Saturday in his return to his hometown area, marking his 10th-straight game in double-digits and 23rd total time this season.

• With a team-leading eight rebounds Saturday, Shaw led USU in rebounds for the 16th time this season.

• By going 5-of-5 at the free throw line Saturday, Shaw was perfect at the charity stripe for the second game in a row as he was 6-of-6 at the free throw line on Thursday at LA Tech and it was the fifth time this season that he has made all his shots from the free pitch line, also going 2-of-2 against Weber State (Nov. 24) and 3-of-3 at Idaho (Jan. 31).

• With five rebounds Saturday, sophomore center Jordan Stone posted five or more boards for the fifth time this season and 10th time in his career.
