Post-Game Notes vs. UNLV (3/3/18)

TEAM NOTES
* Utah State improved to 12-1 on the season and 37-7 under head coach Tim Duryea when leading at the half as USU held a 42-30 advantage at the half.
* Utah State is now 11-4 at home this season under Duryea.
* Utah State improved to 7-32 all-time against UNLV, including a 5-12 record at home. Overall, it is the first time ever that USU has swept the season series against UNLV.
* Utah State is now 13-4 on the season and 41-11 under Duryea when scoring 70-plus points in a game.
* Utah State was 11-of-27 (.407) from 3-point range marking the fifth-straight game and 15th time this year it has made double-digit treys in a game. It is also the 10th time this year that USU has shot at least 40 percent from behind the arc.
* Utah State shot 50.0 percent from the field (29-of-58) marking the 11th time this season that USU has shot at least 50 percent overall and is now 8-3 in those games.
* Utah State’s 23 assists are tied for its most in a game this season along with its 23 assists vs. Life Pacific (12/16) and San Jose State (12/27).
* Utah State’s 12 steals are its second-most in a game this season behind the 13 steals it had against San Jose State (12/27).
* Utah State’s bench had a 19-5 scoring advantage tonight and USU is now 7-10 on the season when its bench out-scores its opponent’s bench.
* Utah State held UNLV to a season-low 67 points and to just 23.1 percent (3-of-13) shooting from 3-point range. Overall, it is the ninth time this season that USU has held its opponent to under 30 percent shooting from behind the arc.
* UNLV shot 53.1 percent (26-of-49) from the field marking the seventh time this season that a USU opponent has shot 50 percent overall, and USU is now 4-3 in those games.

 

 

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
* Sophomore guard Koby McEwen (1) scored in double-figures for the 19th time this year and 43rd time in his career with his 18 points. McEwen also grabbed five rebounds marking the 15th time this year and 36th time in his career he has grabbed at least five boards in a game.
* Sophomore guard Sam Merrill (3) scored in double-figures for the 26th time this season and 40th time in his career with his 15 points. Merrill also tied his career-high with three steals.
* Senior forward Alex Dargenton (11) scored in double-figures for the sixth time this year and 10th time in his career with his 12 points. Dargenton also dished out a career-high five assists.
* Senior guard Julion Pearre (5) tied his season-high with three assists.
* Junior forward Quinn Taylor (10) grabbed five rebounds marking the 15th time this year and 37th time in his career he has grabbed at least five boards in a game. Taylor also had his ninth dunk of the season.
* Junior forward Dwayne Brown Jr. (25) tied his career-high with four assists. Brown Jr. also had his ninth dunk of the season.
