Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

USU senior forward Alex Dargenton:
“It felt really good, especially for us seniors, me and (Julion Pearre), to go out with a win and end our career at home at Utah State. It was a great feeling for us.”

USU senior guard Julion Pearre:
“We came out and played hard, especially coming off two losses on the road. We came out and played with a chip on our shoulder and were able to come out with the win."

USU head coach Tim Duryea:
"I'm really proud of our team. I'm happy for the seniors, Julion (Pearre) and Alex (Dargenton), happy that we got a win, happy that they could contribute in a big way. Both of them did a really good job. Julion hit two big threes for us and Alex was active. He and Quinn Taylor did a really good job passing the ball, finding each other and working around the basket, offensive rebounds, just winning plays. Those guys did a really good job. Overall, a team win. Everybody that played scored, and we got a lot of contributions from the supporting cast which for this team is a huge key. That's what we got last time in Vegas when we played them, and we got that again tonight and that was big for us."

UNLV head coach Marvin Menzies:
“Sometimes it is what it is until you change it yourself, and in the locker room, we gotta find a way to dig and play 40 minutes. We can’t keep playing in spurts like that, especially against a team that’s shooting it that well. They’re very good at home, and I know they had lost to San Jose State, but these games are all mutually exclusive. We knew they were going to come out for Senior Night and really try to go at us, and we actually did some good things. It just didn’t reflect it in the score. We recovered, offensively, in the second half and started playing better basketball. We just still are haunted a little bit by the turnover bug. That hasn’t really gone away yet, and 15 turnovers on the road against a team that shoots it as well as they do is a recipe for disaster. We’ll discuss this game and talk about the details of it, but it’s the end of conference, so we need to turn the page with the players mentally and emotionally. We’ll give them a day off tomorrow as mandated by NCAA rules and then get them ready to roll on Monday for Air Force and then Nevada to take care of business on Wednesday.”
