Utah State will be playing in a tournament championship game for the second straight year in the WAC, the third straight year overall, and for the seventh time in the last eight years. Utah State is also the first team in the history of the WAC Tournament, which started in 1984, to play in the championship game in its first two years in the league. UTEP played in the championship game in the first two years of the tournament, but were already members of the league.
The last time a four seed advanced to the championship game of the WAC Tournament was in 1997 when TCU lost to Utah in the championship game.
Utah State is the first WAC team to make back-to-back championship game appearances since UTEP did it in 2004 and 2005.
Utah State is now 17-3 in tournament play over the last eight years and 11-4 all-time in semifinal games, including a 7-1 record in its last eight semifinal games. USU is 6-4 all-time in tournament championship games.
Stew Morrill is now 24-16 all-time in tournament play, including a 17-4 record at Utah State.
As a number four seed in conference tournaments, Utah State is now 5-5 overall. As a fourth seed, USU will be playing for a conference championship for the second time in school history. The previous time it lost to San Jose State 76-75 in overtime during the 1996 Big West Championship.
Utah State has now won 23 games in each of the last eight seasons and is now one of just four teams in the nation to win at least 23 games in each of the last eight year, joining Duke, Gonzaga and Kansas.
Utah State improved to 5-0 on the year and 28-10 over the last eight years in games played on a neutral court.
Utah State is now 9-8 on the year when it trails at the half and has won seven of its last 10 games when it trails at the half.

Durrall Peterson scored in double figures for the third straight game, for the 12th time this year, and 20th time in his career. It is the first time in his career he has recorded three straight double-figure scoring games.
Jaycee Carroll has now scored 20-plus points 19 times this year and 32 times in his career. USU is 17-2 on the year and 28-4 overall when Carroll scores 20-plus points in a game.
With his 24 points, Jaycee Carroll now has 698 points this year, which ranks fourth all-time in school history behind Wayne Estes (821), Cornell Green (745), and Marvin Roberts (718). It is the most points scored by an Aggie in a single season since Roberts had 718 during the 1968-69 campaign.
Utah State is now 10-3 on the season and has won 18 of its last 23 games decided by six or fewer points.
Utah State has now been out-rebounded in six of its last seven games.
