Utah State Head Coach Stew Morrill...
"That was a good start for us. It's a good way to open the season with a great team coming in from a high-powered league. Our crowd was like it's been a lot of times. Our guys responded and did what we needed to do. It was encouraging. There are still a lot of areas of the game we need to get better at, that was my message to them. I feel good about the win. We can be excited that we got it, but let's keep trying to get better. We gave up a lot of offensive rebounds and some other things. On the other hand we had 21 assists and seven turnovers, that's a really good stat. Sharing the ball was our emphasis all week, to make the extra pass. I thought they did a good job of that. We played hard and it was a good win."
On Jordan Stone's play:
"Jordan is always going to play hard. He's a really good defender. Just ask Jarred Shaw, Jordan is a really good defender. He's strong and physical and going to try and do everything you ask of him. He's getting better at the free throw line. The first two didn't look like it, but he's getting better and doing a good job."
On Preston Medlin's return:
"We need to make sure he stays healthy. If you've got any good voodoo, work it in our favor, would you?"
Senior Guard Spencer Butterfield...
"That was a good team win and a great way to start the season. We have a good team with a lot of depth. We know we can have confidence in anyone coming in. That's exactly what Coach has been talking about. We need to not be selfish. We have a lot of really good weapons on this team and we need to utilize that. I think we did a good job of that tonight. We did a good job of moving the ball around and sharing a little bit."
Junior Guard Danny Berger...
"That was a good win for us, we all played hard. I had a lot of adrenaline out there and my heart was pumping a little bit. It was good to feel and it was good to be out there. We were executing and playing really unselfishly. We had a lot of assists to not very many turnovers. We played together and hung in there all the way to the end."
USC Head Coach Andy Enfield...
"I give Utah State a lot of credit. They have experienced players that are very skilled. They execute their offense, and they play together as a team. They made a lot of shots tonight, some that I thought were very tough shots with hands in their face. I give them credit; they played better than us tonight. Playing in front of their home crowd is a great atmosphere for a college basketball game."
