** Utah State has won 18 of its last 19 season openers dating back to the 1993-94 campaign.
** The Aggies also are 79-29 (.731) all-time in season openers.
** Under head coach Stew Morrill, Utah State is now 14-1 (.933) in season openers including an 8-0 mark at home.
** USU is now 36-13 (.735) all-time against Idaho State, winning the last 14 match-ups... In Logan, USU now leads 16-2, winning the last nine meetings in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum as well as 11 of the last 12.
** The 49 meetings is now tied for the 16th-oldest in school history with another Gem State team in the Idaho Vandals. Utah State and Idaho State first met in the 1942-43 season.
** Utah State improved to 193-99 (.661) all-time against current members of the Big Sky Conference.
** USU head coach Stew Morrill is 72-21 (.774) all-time against the league. At Utah State, Morrill is 24-7 (.774) versus the Big Sky and 11-0 against Idaho State.
** Junior guard Preston Medlin scored in double-figures for the 32nd time in his career with 14 points Saturday.
** Medlin has now made multiple three-pointers in a game six-straight times and 38th for his career.
** Junior center Jarred Shaw was two points and one rebound from his first double-double of his Aggie career in making his official USU debut, after sitting out last season following transferring from Oklahoma State.
** Junior guard Spencer Butterfield was 3-of-3 from three-point range in his USU debut.
** A total of five Aggie players made their official debuts Saturday night: junior center Jarred Shaw,(nine points, eight rebounds), junior guard TeNale Roland (four points, four assists, three rebounds, two steals), junior guard Spencer Butterfield (nine points, four rebounds, two steals), junior forward Marvin Jean (three points, one assist), freshman guard Marcel Davis (no points, no assists).
** Nine of the 10 USU players who saw action scored, with five players posting five or more points.
