LOGAN, Utah -
Utah State vs. Denver Nov. 30, 2011
Utah State Head Coach Stew Morrill...
"Well, Denver put on a clinic tonight, I thought that they were really good. You could see their experience, you could see their system working and they took advantage of our miscues and our inexperience. They just dominated us, we got out-played, we got out-coached; we just got out everything tonight. It is tough, we have been good in this building, it's tough to have a showing like that. All you can really do is go back to the drawing board tomorrow and try to get better and that is what we will do and give them all the credit that they deserve. They have a bunch of seniors that are tough and physical who can shoot it. They have a very good system and those guys have been in the system for a long time and they did a great job in it. They deserve all the credit tonight."
Freshman Center Jordan Stone...
"I am trying to work hard and improve every game. I know you have heard this a million times but we are young and we are trying to work hard and we are trying to get better every game. That's what it looked like out there tonight, we have a lot to work on but give the credit to Denver, they played well, they are well-coached and we need to improve."
Denver Head Coach Joe Scott...
"First off, the program that Stew Morrill has here and the job that he has done, I have always said that it is the most underrated program in college basketball, with what Stew Morrill has done here and how consistent they have been. The numbers show it. He is such a good coach and they are such a good team, they have a good way of playing. We had to play as well as, if not better than, the same manner that Utah State always plays to beat them. To be honest with you, on some level I look at Utah State and their program and I say that is the kind of program that we would like to have and that's the way that it is. They are the team that we are going to have to compete with in the WAC, which will be the conference that we're going to be in. This year at their place and last year at our place, it feels a little bit like conference play. I said that to our guys at halftime, this is the team that we are going to have to compete against next year."
