USU Men's Basketball Receiving Votes In USA Today/Coaches Poll

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's basketball is among others receiving votes in this week's USA Today/Coaches Top 25 Poll, marking the first time the Aggies have been in the poll since being ranked No. 25 in the final poll of the 2010-11 season.
USU, which is 13-1 on the season, was one of four teams to receive one vote each to tie for 37th, joining Arizona State (13-2), Temple (10-3) and Virginia (11-3). There are four teams in the country who are still unbeaten, No. 1 Duke (14-0), No. 2 Michigan (15-0), No. 3 Arizona (14-0) and No. 25 Wyoming (13-0). Utah State is one of 12 teams in the nation with one loss.
Overall, USU has now won 12-straight games to rank tied for the seventh-longest winning streak in school history, including being tied for the sixth-longest under veteran head coach Stew Morrill.
The USA Today Sports Board of Coaches is made up of 31 head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
The Aggies are also in first-place in the Western Athletic Conference with a 4-0 league mark. After four games in a span of a week last week, Utah State only has one game this week, wrapping up a three-game homestand by hosting San Jose State (8-6, 3-1) on Friday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The game will be televised regionally on KMYU.
