LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's basketball is ranked in the top 10 of two NCAA statistical categories as part of four in the top 25 in the updated NCAA statistics released Monday afternoon.
USU is fifth in the country in both rebounding margin (+11.4) and assists per game (17.9), as well as 11th in three-point field goal percentage (.411) and 16th in assist-turnover ratio (1.55). The Aggies are also 36th in free throw percentage (.741), 38th in field goal percentage (.480), 46th in scoring defense (65.1), 47th in scoring margin (10.1) and 56th in won-lost percentage (.733).
Individually, senior guard Preston Medlin is sixth in the nation in assist-turnover ratio (3.69), while sophomore guard Marcel Davis is 32nd in assist-turnover ratio (2.94). Medlin also is 97th in three-point field goals per game (2.33). Sophomore forward Kyle Davis is 54th in the nation in double-doubles with five, and 59th in rebounding (8.9).
USU leads the Mountain West Conference overall statistics in rebound margin (+11.8), three-point field goal percentage (.411), assists (17.9) and assist-turnover ratio (1.5). The Aggies are also second in field goal percentage (.480) and free throw percentage (.741), as well as third in scoring defense (65.1), scoring margin (+10.1) and three-point field goal percentage defense (.303). Additionally, USU is fourth in rebounds (38.7), along with fifth in scoring (75.2) and blocks (4.5), as well as sixth in field goal percentage defense (.418) and 11th in steals (3.5).
Individually, Medlin is first in the conference in assist-turnover ratio (3.7), while ranking third in assists (3.9), sixth in three-point field goals made (2.3), eighth in free throw percentage (.808) and tied for 18th in scoring (13.7), tying with teammate senior guard/forward Spencer Butterfield, who also is eighth in three-point field goals made (2.2) and 14th in rebounds (6.5). Kyle Davis is fifth in blocks (1.7) and eighth in rebounds (8.9). Marcel Davis is third in the league in assist/turnover ratio (2.9) and eighth in assists (3.3).

In the MW only stats, the Aggies are first in rebounding margin (+9.3) and assists (18.3), as well as ranking second in assist-turnover ratio (1.8) and third in three-point field goal percentage (.386). USU is also fourth in scoring margin (+3.3), along with fifth in scoring (70.7), scoring defense (67.3), free throw percentage (.735) and field goal percentage (.433). Additionally, the Aggies are tied for sixth in blocks (4.0), seventh in steals (4.7) and ninth in both field goal percentage defense (.447) and three-point field goal percentage defense (.377).
Individually, Medlin is third in the league in assists (4.3), tied for second in assist-turnover ratio (4.3) and 17th in scoring (13.3). Butterfield is tied for 10th in three-point field goals made (2.0).
Senior guard TeNale Roland is first in conference only games in three-point field goal percentage (.571) and also leads the league in assist-turnover ratio (12.0), along with tied for fifth in three-pointers made (2.7). Kyle Davis is fifth in blocks (2.3) and sixth in rebounds (10.7), while Marcel Davis is tied for sixth in both assists (3.7) and steals (1.7), as well as eighth in assist-turnover ratio (2.8).
Utah State returns home to host Colorado State on Wednesday, Jan. 15 in a notable match-up. Morrill was head coach at CSU for seven seasons prior to coming to USU, while Colorado State head coach Larry Eustachy was USU head coach from 1994-98. It will be Morrill's second match-up against his former team, while it will be Eustachy's first time facing the Aggies from the opposition's bench.
All USU men's basketball single-game, multi-game and season tickets are on sale. Single-game tickets cost $18 for non-priority and $20 for priority, as well as $25 for premium game against UNLV (Feb. 15).
