Utah State Earns 89-58 Victory Over Air Force in Career-High Filled Senior Night
LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men’s basketball (13-15, 7-10 Mountain West) won 89-58 against Air Force (11-18, 4-12 Mountain West) Saturday night, celebrating Senior Night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

• Utah State (10-11, 3-5 MW) closes out the first half of its Mountain West slate on Wednesday, Jan. 24, hosting Air Force (8-10, 2-4 MW) at 7 p.m., inside the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

• Utah State leads the all-time series against Air Force, 15-4, and is a perfect 9-0 in Logan. The Aggies have won five of the last six against the Falcons.

• Utah State is averaging more than 10 3-point baskets per game against Air Force since joining the Mountain West and has hit at least 13 treys in each of the last three games against the Falcons.

• Utah State's 52 points in the second half against Wyoming was the second-most points scored by the Aggies in a half this season. USU has scored 50 or more points in a half five times this season.

• In all, Utah State has outscored the opposition 821-752 during the second half this season.

• Sophomore guard Koby McEwen has scored in double figures in each of the last eight games. McEwen is leading the team with 7.6 rebounds per game over the last five games.

• McEwen's 12 rebounds against Wyoming marked the second-highest total by an Aggie this season.

• Sophomore guard Sam Merrill leads the Mountain West with 34.9 minutes per game. Merrill has scored in double figures in nine of the last 10 games.



• Junior forward Dwayne Brown Jr., has scored in double figures in three straight games and in five of the last six.

• During its recent four-game losing skid, Utah State has struggled with turnovers, averaging more than 15 per game during the four-game stretch.

Scouting Air Force
Air Force is 8-10 on the year and 2-4 in the Mountain West. The Falcons had to cancel their last game against Fresno State last Saturday because of the U.S. Government shutdown.

The Falcons are averaging 69.6 points per game and shooting 42.1 percent (425-of-1,010) from the floor, 32.5 percent (141-of-434) from behind the 3-point line and 74.4 percent (261-of-351) at the free throw line. Lavelle Scottie is the only one of the AFA roster averaging double figures, turning in 11.8 points per game. Scottie is also tied for the team lead on the glass, matching teammate Ryan Swan with 4.2 rebounds per contest. Trevor Lyons leads AFA with 52 assists on the year.

Defensively, teams have averaged 71.7 points per game against the Falcons and shot 46.8 percent (448-of-957) from the floor, 39.8 percent (169-of-425) from behind the 3-point line and 71.0 percent (225-of-317) at the free throw line. Lyons is tops on the team with 23 steals and Swan leads Air Force with 11 blocks.

Head coach Dave Pilipovich is in his sixth season at the controls of Air Force and has compiled an overall mark of 80-104 during his tenure.
