LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head men's basketball coach Stew Morrill issued a statement Wednesday regarding his reprimand from the Western Athletic Conference for a situation that occurred during USU's 81-63 win against New Mexico State Saturday.

"It was a loose ball situation, words were exchanged and my response was inappropriate," said Morrill. "I made a mistake and will work to improve my language. New Mexico State has a good team and Jahmar Young is a good player. He was called for a technical foul on the play and I now have been disciplined by the WAC. That should cover it."

Utah State, the top seed in this week's WAC Tournament in Reno, Nev., will play eighth-seeded Boise State on Thursday, March 11 at 1 p.m. (MT) in the first quarterfinal of the day. The game will be televised live on ESPNU.
