Jaycee Carroll Named All-Senior All-American By Lowe's

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's Jaycee Carroll received another national honor this past weekend as he was named a second-team all-senior All-American by Lowe's. Carroll was also one of 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award which was won by Vanderbilt's Shan Foster.

Carroll, a 6-2, 175-pound senior guard from Evanston, Wyo., was one of just 10 seniors from across the country to be named an All-America by Lowe's. The all-senior first-team consisted of Shan Foster (Vanderbilt), Roy Hibbert (Georgetown), Chris Lofton (Tennessee), Drew Neitzel (Michigan State), and DeMarcus Nelson (Duke). Members of the second team included A.J. Graves (Bulter), Brian Roberts (Dayton), Sean Singletary (Virginia), Peyton Stovall (Ball State), and Carroll.

Carroll finished his senior season ranking first in the nation in three-point shooting at 49.8 percent, was second in the nation in free throw shooting at 91.9 percent, and 13th in scoring with 22.4 points per game. He also ranked 10th in the WAC in field goal shooting at 52.6 percent.

Carroll's other honors this year include being named an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American for the second straight year, along with being named the 2008 Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year. He was also named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District 14 second-team, to the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District VIII team, a second-team high-major All-American by CollegeHoops.net., one of five finalists for the Chip Hilton Player of the Year Award, and to the WAC's all-tournament team.
