April 17, 2018

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head men’s basketball coach Craig Smith announced the addition of Tauriawn Knight on Tuesday. Knight is a 6-foot-1 guard from Edmond Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Okla., who was recently named to the Oklahoma Super-5 team as one of the top-five prep players in the state by NewsOK.com.

Knight finished his career with the Wolves as the third-leading scorer in school history, averaging 19.2 points per game as a senior. He led ESFHS to the Oklahoma 6A Championship Game after scoring a team-best 21 points to upset top-ranked Broken Arrow in the semifinals. Knight also averaged 3.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game during his senior year en route to earning all-Big City first-team and all-state honors, along with USA Today second-team all-Oklahoma accolades. He capped his career by being named the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

“Tauriawn is an ultra-competitive guard that can play both spots in the backcourt,” Smith said. “He finished up an outstanding senior season by leading his team to the Class 6A State Championship game. Tauriawn’s a winner. He plays with great pace and really understands how to make others around him better.”
