LOGAN, Utah - Former Utah State men’s basketball player Spencer Butterfield has been named to the Utah Jazz Summer League roster and will appear with the team in games in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, Nev.

Butterfield finished his career as one of the top 3-point marksmen in school history, shooting 44.7 percent from long range over two seasons with the Aggies. Butterfield led USU in scoring as a senior, averaging 12.9 points per game and shooting 46.4 percent (141-of-305) from the field and a team- and Mountain West-best 46.0 percent (69-of-150) from behind the 3-point line. Butterfield also led the team defensively, totaling 19 steals and finishing third on the team with 10 blocks en route to earning honorable mention all-Mountain West honors.

Butterfield made an immediate impact with the Aggies as a junior, following a transfer from Yuba College, when he finished third on the team with 12.2 points per game and second on the team with 6.6 rebounds per contest. That year, Butterfield shot just under 50 percent from the floor (.498), including a team-best 42.5 percent (48-of-113) from behind the 3-point line and earned second-team all-WAC honors and was named to the WAC All-Newcomer Team.
