Aggies in NBA Summer League Recap

LOGAN, Utah - Former Utah State men’s basketball players Jalen Moore and Spencer Butterfield punctuated their NBA Summer League experience this week, appearing with the Milwaukee Bucks and Utah Jazz, respectively.

Moore played in every game with the Bucks in Las Vegas, averaging just over 16 minutes a game as Milwaukee finished its five-game slate with a 1-4 record. Moore averaged 4.0 points per game, shooting 41.2 percent (7-of-17) from the field and 42.9 percent from behind the 3-point line (6-of-14). His best scoring game came in a head-to-head matchup with Butterfield’s Jazz squad, where he tallied 11 points and added one assist and a steal.

Butterfield appeared in six of the eight summer league games for the Utah Jazz, spread over venues in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. Butterfield averaged 17.8 minutes per game and 10.5 points per outing, shooting 41.2 percent (14-of-34) from the floor and 40.0 percent (10-of-25) from behind the 3-point line. Additionally, Butterfield averaged 3.5 rebounds per game and 1.0 assists per game as the Jazz finished the summer league season with an overall mark of 4-4, including a first-place finish in the three-game league hosted in Salt Lake City. In the head-to-head matchup with Milwaukee in Las Vegas, Butterfield helped the Jazz to a 97-76 victory with 11 points, six rebounds and three assists, shooting 40.0 percent (4-of-10) from the floor and 50.0 percent (3-of-6) from behind the 3-point line.
