Aggie Men To Hold Annual Blue-White Scrimmage Wednesday
Oct. 27, 2008
LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's basketball team will hold its annual Blue-White scrimmage, presented by Macey's, on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free. At 5:30 p.m., Macey's will hold a student preseason party at the south student entrance of the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, where there will be a donut eating contest, free hot chocolate, basketball shooting competitions and more. During the scrimmage, there will be free giveaways, face painting, grocery giveaways, a mini-ball toss, sub-sandwich prizes, and shooting contests for gift certificates to Macey's. Once the scrimmage begins, USU head coach Stew Morrill will run his team through two 10-minute sessions. At the conclusion of the scrimmage players will be available for autographs. Utah State, who is picked to finish second in the WAC's preseason polls, returns three starters and six letterwinners from last year's 24-11 team that won a share of the Western Athletic Conference regular season championship with a 12-4 league mark, and advanced to its ninth-straight postseason as it played at Illinois State in the first round of the MasterCard National Invitation Tournament. Following the Blue-White scrimmage, USU will play its first exhibition game on Friday, Oct. 31 against Northwest Nazarene at 7 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, where trick or treating for kids will be available on the concourse. Season tickets are available through USU's web site at www.UtahStateAggies.com or by calling the ticket office toll free at 1-888-USTATE-1 ore (435) 797-0305.
