LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's head men's basketball coach Stew Morrill announced Friday the signing of Aaron England to a national letter of intent to compete for the Aggies beginning in the fall of 2006.

England, a 6-5, 180-pound guard from Cyprus High School in West Valley City, Utah, was named his team's Most Valuable Player as a junior as he averaged approximately 16 points, six rebounds and four assists per game.

"Aaron will be an outstanding student-athlete at Utah State," said Morrill. "His ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter and his overall basketball knowledge should fit in perfectly with our system. Anytime you can get an in-state player with the character and work ethic that Aaron has it only benefits your program."

"I think Aaron will fit in really well at Utah State and I am excited about him going there," said Cyprus head coach Clyde Ahlquist. "Aaron has an exceptional work ethic and he is focused on being an excellent basketball player. He is working on being a team leader and I am excited about his play this coming season."

Along with Utah State, England was recruited by Brigham Young, Eastern Kentucky and Utah Valley State.
