LOGAN, Utah – Utah State senior wing Jalen Moore has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, December 25, it was announced Monday. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.
Moore (North Logan, Utah) led Utah State to a 1-1 record last week with a 76-66 home win against New Orleans and a 77-71 home loss to Weber State. Against the Privateers, Moore scored 18 points, shooting 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from the floor, and added five assists, three rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Against the Wildcats, Moore led the Aggies with 18 points, shooting 58.3 percent (7-of-12) from the floor, and added a team-best five rebounds along with one assist. For the week, Moore averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.5 steals per game, while shooting 60.0 percent (12-of-20) from the floor, 80.0 percent (4-of-5) from behind the 3-point line and 88.9 percent (8-of-9) from the free throw line. Moore increased his career point total to 1,302 during the week, moving to No. 17 all-time.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL - Freshman forward Shannon Dufficy (Preston, Victoria, Australia) led the Aggies in their 61-57 road loss at Arizona. Against the Wildcats, Dufficy was the top scorer on the night, recording a career-best 21 points. She also led the team with 11 rebounds for the first double-double of her career. Additionally, Dufficy added one block and three steals in the game. On the night, Dufficy shot 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from the field and 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from the free throw line.
