Quickly: Tabbed to several preseason all-WAC teams... Slated as the starting defensive end entering fall after starting 10 games at the position last season... Brings leadership and experience to defensive line... Originally signed with USU in the spring of 2001. 2007 (Jr.): Tabbed to Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award Watch List and preseason all-WAC teams by Blue Ribbon, Lindy's, Sporting News, Street & Smith, cbs.sportsline.com and Athlon publications... Started 10 games and played in all 12... Tied for the lead among USU defensive linemen and ranked tied for eighth on team with 41 tackles (17 solo, 24 assists), including 5.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, as well as one fumble recovery... Made season-best 10 stops against Nevada... Had five or more tackles in three other games. 2006 (So.): Named second-team all-WAC... Earned WAC Defensive Player of the Week honors (10/9/06) for his performance against Fresno State, as he had a career-high nine tackles against the Bulldogs for the most by an Aggie lineman since 2003... Started seven games beginning with his first collegiate start at Arkansas... Suffered a hand injury, which forced him out of two games, but he returned to play in the final two contests... Led USU's defensive linemen with 44 tackles despite missing two games... That total was eighth on the team... Was second on the team with 6.5 tackles for loss and tied for second in sacks with two... Had seven tackles in the season opener at Wyoming... Also had six tackles against Idaho... Sacks came at Arkansas and against Idaho. 2005 (Fr.): Saw time as a backup on the defensive line after returning from an LDS Church Mission... Registered 15 tackles, including one for loss... Had a season-best five stops against Boise State and two games later had four tackles against Louisiana Tech. High School: Earned second-team all-state honors by the Salt Lake Tribune... Was a three-year starter and a two-time team defensive MVP... Earned all-valley honors two times... Was a team captain... As a senior he recorded 64 tackles, including 45 solo stops... Led the team with nine sacks and added six other tackles for loss... Also played tight end. Personal: Born Jan. 19, 1983 in Logan, Utah... Son of Rick and Nancy Calderwood... Has seven brothers and one sister... Majoring in business... Main hobby is snowboarding... Went on an LDS Church Mission to Brazil... Married his wife Kelly on July 29, 2006... From same hometown and high school as fellow defensive lineman, Levi Koskan.
