Along with handing out individual awards, a highlight video recapping the year was shown, as was a video honoring USU's senior class, which tied the 1962 senior class for the most wins in school history with 26.

Utah State Football Ends 2012 Season Ranking Seventh In The Nation In Scoring Defense and Among Top 15 Defenses In Five Separate Categories
USU's defense ranked seventh in the nation in scoring defense (15.4 ppg), tied for sixth nationally in sacks (3.23 pg), eighth in the nation in pass efficiency defense (104.4), 13th in the country in rushing defense (113.8 ypg), 14th in the nation in total defense (322.1 ypg), and 32nd in the nation in passing defense (208.3 ypg).
Of its 52 academic all-WAC selections, Utah State had 18 student-athletes from football honored, along with 11 student-athletes from soccer, eight from both women's cross country and volleyball, and seven from men's cross country.

UTAH STATE: A physical, aggressive player with great size... Possesses tremendous speed and is the most athletic defensive lineman on the team... Also possesses great technique and footwork and is very knowledgeable about the game of football.
2013 (JR): Played in all 14 games, making 13 starts... Earned second-team all-Mountain West honors and was named second-team all-Mountain West by both College Sports Madness and Phil Steele as he finished the season second on the team with 4.0 sacks and three quarterback hurries, to go along with 8.0 tackles for loss and 31 total tackles (14-solo, 17-assist)... Was named a College Football Performance Awards Honorable Mention National Defensive Lineman of the Week following his performance against No. 24 Fresno State in the inaugural Mountain West Championship game as he had a career-high 2.0 tackles for loss, to go along with 1.0 sack, as part of his five total tackles... Recorded a career-high seven tackles at Utah (8/29)... Had at least 0.5 tackles for loss in eight games and multiple tackles in a game nine times during the season... Recorded sacks against Boise State (10/12), New Mexico (10/19) and Hawai'i (11/2) in consecutive games, and finished the season with sacks against Fresno State and Northern Illinois (12/26) in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.
2012 (SO): Played in all 13 games... Finished the year with 19 tackles (9-solo, 10-assist) including 4.0 sacks and 5.0 tackles for loss, which ranked fifth and sixth on the team, respectively... Also had three quarterback hurries and one pass breakup... Intercepted his first career pass against Idaho (11/24) and returned it four yards... Recorded a season-high three tackles against Colorado State (9/22) and Texas State (11/3)... Had two tackles in four other games... Registered sacks against UNLV (9/29), Texas State, Idaho and Toledo (12/15) in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl... His one pass breakup was against the Rockets as well... Earned academic all-WAC honors.
2011 (RS-FR): Showed significant progress and playing time increased as a result, playing in all 12 regular season games... Logged seven tackles, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry... Earned academic all-WAC honors.
2010 (RS): Redshirted during his first season at Utah State.
HIGH SCHOOL: A two-year letterman at Logan (Utah) High School... Earned Logan Herald Journal honorable mention all-Cache Valley accolades as a senior, helping Grizzlies to 7-5 record... Also lettered in basketball, averaging 7.4 points per game... Also lettered in tennis, helping Logan HS to a state championship as a senior.
PERSONAL: Son of Bryan and Jackie Larsen... Has three brothers and one sister... Younger brother, Derek, is a freshman linebacker on Utah State's football team... Served a two-year Spanish speaking LDS Church Mission in Little Rock, Ark., from 2008-10... Graduated from USU in the spring of 2014 with a degree in business administration and is pursuing his master's in physical and sport education.
