Utah State: A quiet leader on the team, who has recorded back-to-back 100-plus tackle seasons... Is one of just six players on the roster with three letters.

2001 (Jr.): Started all 11 games at linebacker... Led the team with 100 tackles on the year... Was second on the team with 13 tackles for loss and his three sacks were also second best... Additionally he broke up one pass, recovered one fumble and forced another... Had four double-digit tackle games, including a career-high 17 stops against Idaho State... Opened the year with 15 tackles at Utah... Had 14 against Oregon and 11 at Connecticut... Had two nine-tackle games as well (Central Florida and Fresno State)... Named the team?s top linebacker.

2000 (So.): Earned first-team all-Big West honors despite coming off the bench and starting just four games on the year... Was selected as the team?s co-sophomore of the year with Jose Fuentes... Was second on the team and fourth in the Big West in tackles with 110, including 61 solo stops... Recorded five tackles for loss and tied for the team lead with two interceptions... Was involved in five turnovers on the year as he also forced two fumbles and recovered one as well as the two interceptions... Recorded at least 10 tackles in eight games, including a career-high 17 at Boise State.

1999 (Fr.): A key special teams player, who also saw backup action on defense... Was credited with 47 tackles on the year... Had two tackles for loss, including one sack... Also had one pass broken up and forced a fumble... Best game was a 12-tackle performance against Kansas State as he started that game in place of an injured Tony Newson for his only start... That came one week after he had nine stops against Arkansas State.

1998 (RS): Redshirted his first year at USU.

High School: An all-CIF selection as a senior... Earned first-team all-league honors and was the co-defensive Player of the Year in his league... Selected to all-area teams by both the Los Angeles Times and the Daily News... Recorded 143 tackles, four fumble recoveries, three interceptions and two sacks as a prep senior... Was first-team all-league and all-area as a junior... Was named the team?s Most Valuable Player as a sophomore. Personal: Born Nov. 6, 1980 in La Crescenta, Calif.... Son of Gale and Pam Busta.
