Joined Utah State in the fall after transferring from Oregon State University where he participated in spring ball in 2012 and was listed on their two-deep at linebacker... A first-team all-conference selection for the College of the Desert (Calif.), as well as a two-time Foothill Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week... Helped the Roadrunners advance to the Beach Bowl in 2011... The College of the Desert was ranked in the top 25 nationally much of the season... Best game in 2011 was against Mt. San Antonio Junior College (National Runner-up and defending National JUCO Champion) where he had 10 tackles, including one for loss, an interception and a fumble recovery... Cowdin's head coach at the College of the Desert was Dean Dowty who played at Utah State in 1991... Prepped at Dixie High School in St. George, Utah were he was named the team's Defensive MVP... Received first-team all-region and honorable mention all-state honors as a linebacker from both the Desert News and Salt Lake Tribune... Was also a first-team high school Rotary Bowl selection... Led Dixie HS with 111 tackles, including 11 for loss, to go along with seven sacks, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries... Also played fullback... Was coached by Jake Nelson... Born January 8, 1990... Married to Tori Hardesty... Son of R. Buck Cowdin and Shelley Duce... Has four brothers and three sisters.
