RECORDS: Won his first five career starts at quarterback, which is a school record... Set the freshman record for passing yards by a quarterback with 1,446... Completed 60.3 percent of his passes (126-of-209) as a freshman to rank fifth all-time in school history for a single-season... Set the single-game passing record by a freshman with 370 yards against Hawai'i (11/2/13)... His career completion percentage (.631) ranks second all-time in school history as he was 217-of-344 passing.

2014 (SO): Played in just five games during the season before missing the rest of the year with an injury... Finished the year completing 91-of-135 passes (.674) for 1,140 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions, while adding four rushing yards on 17 carries (0.2 ypr) with two touchdowns... Led the team in completions, attempts, yards and passing touchdowns... Sat out the first two games of the season before seeing his first action against Wake Forest (9/13) and was 11-of-16 passing for 121 yards with one touchdown... Was then 27-of-46 for 268 yards with two touchdowns against Arkansas State (9/20) as those 46 pass attempts were a career-high... Also had a career-long 81-yard touchdown pass to current senior wide receiver Hunter Sharp against the Red Wolves... Was named the Mountain West and College Sports Madness' Offensive Player of the Week following USU's 35-20 road win at No. 18 BYU as he was 19-of-25 passing for a season-high 321 yards and a season-best three touchdowns against the Cougars, to go along with a 5-yard touchdown run... In the BYU game, he was 14-of-17 passing for 257 yards and three touchdowns in the first-half alone, including a 72-yard touchdown pass to Sharp... Was also named a Manning Award Star of the Week and a College Football Performance Awards Honorable Mention National Quarterback of the Week following his performance against BYU... Was 20-of-29 passing for 298 yards with two touchdowns against Air Force, including a 75-yard touchdown pass to Sharp... Also rushed for a career-high 24 yards on eight carries, including a 17-yard touchdown run... Finished his season by going 14-of-19 for 132 yards at Colorado State (10/18) before suffering his season-ending injury in the third quarter.

2013 (FR): Played in eight games, including starting the final seven... Set the USU freshman record by winning his first five career starts and ended the season with a 6-1 record as a starter... Is the first Aggie freshman to win his first start since Riley Nelson in 2006... Was one of just 21 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) freshmen quarterbacks to start in 2013... Set the USU freshman record for passing yards in a game with 370 as he was 28-of-41 passing with three touchdowns, all of which are career-highs, against Hawai'i (11/2)... Those 370 passing yards also rank as the 20th-most in a single-game in school history... Also had three touchdown passes against Wyoming (11/30) as he was 20-of-29 passing for 156 yards... Threw for 298 yards at UNLV (11/9) as he was 17-of-29 passing with one touchdown... Also had touchdown passes against Boise State (10/12), at New Mexico (10/19) and against No. 24 Northern Illinois in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl... Finished the year completing 126-of-209 passes (.603) for 1,446 yards (180.8 ypg) with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions... Those 1,446 passing yards are also a USU freshman record... Carried the ball 60 times for a net gain of 33 yards (0.6 ypc) with a career-long rush of 22 yards against Colorado State... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned Arizona Section I first-team all-state and first-team all-district honors as a prep senior at Chandler (Ariz.) High School as he was 211-of-316 (.668) passing for 3,065 yards with 27 touchdowns and just six interceptions... Passed for at least 400 yards five times during his senior season... Also rushed for 347 yards and seven touchdowns as he helped the Wolves to a 7-4 record... Was named the U.S. Marine Corps Elite Warrior Arizona Player of the Year and National Football Foundation Danny White Award winner as the top quarterback in Arizona as a prep senior... Was also his high school's MVP and a National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete... Earned honorable mention all-state and first-team all-section honors during his junior year as he completed 108-of-180 passes for 2,051 yards with 19 touchdowns and six interceptions... Ranks first all-time at Chandler HS in career passing yards (5,450) and career passing touchdowns (50), while also ranking first for a single season in passing yards (3,056), passing touchdowns (27), completions (211), attempts (316) and completion percentage (.668)... Was also named the 2012 Semper Fidelis Junior Rank Southwest Combine Offensive MVP.

PERSONAL: One of four children of Richard and Wendy Garretson... His father played wide receiver at San Diego State and his older brother, Leshawn George, played wide receiver at Montana... Has a cousin, Jason Garretson, who played basketball at MidAmerica Nazarene University... Is the grandson of former NBA referee Darell Garretson and nephew of NBA referee Ron Garretson.
