Bowl-Eligible USU Plays At New Mexico State Saturday In All-Aggie Affair

Utah State Going For First Seven-Win Season Since 1993, First Regular Season Seven Wins Since 1979

After a two-year playing career with USU, Jeff Fischer is entering his first season with the USU coaching staff and will serve as student assistant for the offense, working primarily with Coach Baldwin, Coach Wells and the Aggie quarterbacks.

Fischer had his senior season shortened with a shoulder injury sustained during preseason camp and did not see any action in 2010. He saw action in one game as a back-up in 2009, rushing four times for eight yards and did not attempt a pass.

Joining the Aggies from Cerritos CC, Fischer earned second-team all-National Division Central Conference accolades as a sophomore after throwing for 180-of-282 (63.8 percent) for 2,063 yards with 23 touchdowns and four interceptions, leading the Falcons to a 7-4 record. He aslo averaged 187.5 ypg with a QB efficiency rating of 149.36, and also had 71 yards rushing with two TD's.

A native of Long Beach, Calif., Fischer was a National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete as a senior at Lakewood HS. He was also selected to the Press Telegram Dream Team and was named the Moore League Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for over 2,000 yards and 20 TD's his senior season.

Fischer is finishing his bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies, and is expected to graduate in December, 2011.
