Quickly: Should be one of the leaders on the team... Has been moved back to his natural defensive end position after playing linebacker last year. 2004 (Jr.): Earned team's Golden Helmet Award for top hitter... Also named the team's top linebacker... Started the last six games of the year at will linebacker... Registered 40 tackles on the year... Led team with nine tackles for loss, including three sacks... Sacks came against Alabama, UNLV and New exico State... Had a season-high eight tackles against UNLV... Also had six tackles against Arkansas State. 2003 (So.): Named the team's outstanding sophomore... Missed the first three games of the season with a broken thumb... Returned and recorded a sack in each of his first four games back (USU did not record a sack in his absence)... Recovered a fumble and returned it 37 yards for a touchdown against North Texas... Had 33 tackles in nine games with 5.5 tackles for loss, including the four sacks... Best tackle games were nine against Wyoming and seven against North Texas in consecutive weeks. 2002 (Fr.): Became the first USU freshman to start a season opener since 1993 when Pratt Lyons started at defensive tackle... Started all 11 games on the year... Was named one of three USU freshmen of the year with Donald Penn and Matt Wiser... Recorded 42 tackles on the year to rank seventh on the team and first among down linemen... Had 5.5 tackles for loss, including a team-high tying four sacks... Broke up two passes and forced one fumble on the season... Had five tackles in four different games, including each of his first two collegiate contests against Utah and Nebraska... His sacks came against BYU, UL-Monroe, Troy State and Middle Tennessee... Also forced a fumble against BYU. High School: Named the Wyoming high school defensive lineman of the year... Was an all-state defensive end and tight end... Was a two-time all-conference selection... As a senior he recorded 52 tackles, including 12 for loss... Also broke up four passes, recovered two fumbles and blocked a kick... As a tight end he caught four passes, including three for touchdowns and one two-point conversion... His team won the state championship after an undefeated season his senior year in 2000... Campbell County also won the state title in 1998 and finished second in 1999... Competed in track and was the state champion in both the shot put and discus. Personal: Born Nov. 20, 1982 in Gillette, Wyo... Son of John and Julie Chick... Has one brother and one sister...
