Former Utah State Football Players Perform Well In Pro Day

In all, scouts from the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, along with the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League where in attendance Thursday.

Shaver Will Remain on Utah State Football Coaching Staff

Kendrick Shaver, who was named FootballScoop's Co-Defensive Backs National Coach of the Year in 2012, has spent the past two seasons on the Utah State coaching staff, where he mentored a pair of all-Western Athletic Conference defensive backs this past season, including one All-American.

HONORS: Second-Team Phil Steele's College Football Preview Preseason All-WAC (2012).

UTAH STATE: Switching jersey from No. 13 to 15 for his senior season... A good-sized defensive back with exceptional make-up speed... Can play the ball in the air and break up a lot of passes.

2011 (Jr.): Became a permanent fixture in the secondary for USU, seeing action in all 13 games while starting 10... Led the defense with 12 pass break-ups, which were tied for fourth-most in the WAC, while his 0.92 passes defended per game ranked tied for seventh in the league and tied for 55th in FBS... Third among defensive backs and fifth overall in total tackles with 48 stops... Logged career-high eight tackles in Nevada game, while adding five in the Fresno State game and made four stops in five other games... Registered three pass break ups at Hawai`i, adding two in Louisiana Tech and BYU games.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Totaled 25 tackles with one tackle for loss along with one interception and one pass break-up in eight games at Phoenix (Ariz.) CC... Junior college teammates with fellow Aggie Tyler Bennett.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned first-team all-region and first-team all-state honors at Deer Valley (Ariz.) High School after tallying 89 tackles with three interceptions in senior season... Helped the Skyhawks to the region championship as a junior... Also lettered in track & field, competing in the short sprints, long jump, triple jump and high jump, qualifying for regional meet in all events while advancing to the 5A-II Arizona state championships in the long jump and triple jump.
