Along with handing out individual awards, a highlight video recapping the year was shown, as was a video honoring USU's senior class, which tied the 1962 senior class for the most wins in school history with 26.

Utah State Football Ends 2012 Season Ranking Seventh In The Nation In Scoring Defense and Among Top 15 Defenses In Five Separate Categories
USU's defense ranked seventh in the nation in scoring defense (15.4 ppg), tied for sixth nationally in sacks (3.23 pg), eighth in the nation in pass efficiency defense (104.4), 13th in the country in rushing defense (113.8 ypg), 14th in the nation in total defense (322.1 ypg), and 32nd in the nation in passing defense (208.3 ypg).
Of its 52 academic all-WAC selections, Utah State had 18 student-athletes from football honored, along with 11 student-athletes from soccer, eight from both women's cross country and volleyball, and seven from men's cross country.

HONORS: Academic All-WAC (2011, 2012).
UTAH STATE: A physical, aggressive player with great size... Also possesses tremendous speed and is the fastest defensive lineman on the team.
2012 (SO): Played in all 13 games... Finished the year with 19 tackles (9-solo, 10-assists) to go along with four sacks and five tackles for loss, which ranked fifth and sixth on the team, respectively... Also had three quarterback hurries and one pass breakup... Intercepted his first career pass against Idaho (11/24) and returned it four yards... Recorded a career-high three tackles against Colorado State (9/22) and Texas State (11/3)... Had two tackles in four other games... Registered sacks against UNLV (9/29), Texas State, Idaho and Toledo (12/15) in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl... His one pass breakup was against the Rockets as well... Earned academic all-WAC honors.
2011 (RS-FR): Showed significant progress and playing time increased as a result, playing in all 12 regular season games... Logged seven tackles, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry.
2010 (RS): Redshirted during his first season at Utah State.
HIGH SCHOOL: A two-year letterman at Logan (Utah) High School... Earned Logan Herald Journal honorable mention all-Cache Valley accolades as a senior, helping Grizzlies to 7-5 record... Also lettered in basketball, averaging 7.4 points per game... Also lettered in tennis, helping Logan HS to a state championship as a senior.
PERSONAL: Born Jan. 31, 1989... Son of Bryan and Jackie Larsen... Has three brothers and one sister... Brother-in-law, Jake Whipple, played for Utah State from 2004-06... Served a two-year LDS Church Mission in Little Rock, Ark., (Spanish speaking) from 2008-10... Majoring in business.
