In all, approximately 51 percent of USU's student-athletes earned a 3.2 GPA to qualify for the awards.

Of the 95 players that were donning helmets, practice jerseys and shorts Tuesday, 25 will be seniors, 25 will be juniors, 20 will sophomores and 25 are freshmen.
USU will practice from 6:15 to 8:15 a.m. in its first of 15 spring practices at the Stan Laub Indoor Football Complex.
Along with handing out individual awards, a highlight video recapping the year was shown, as was a video honoring USU's senior class, which tied the 1962 senior class for the most wins in school history with 26.

HIGH SCHOOL: Named Deseret News 3A MVP and earned first-team all-state honors, anchoring both offensive and defensive lines as center and nose guard in leading Juan Diego (Utah) High School to the 3A state championship with an unblemished 14-0 record... Also earned all-region accolades... Posted 91 tackles with 11 sacks, along with two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery on defense as a senior after logging 32 tackles with six sacks his junior season... Also an all-state and all-region heavyweight wrestler, finishing third at state after being a region champion... Was also state champion in both the discus and shot put...
