In all, approximately 51 percent of USU's student-athletes earned a 3.2 GPA to qualify for the awards.
Along with handing out individual awards, a highlight video recapping the year was shown, as was a video honoring USU's senior class, which tied the 1962 senior class for the most wins in school history with 26.
Of its 52 academic all-WAC selections, Utah State had 18 student-athletes from football honored, along with 11 student-athletes from soccer, eight from both women's cross country and volleyball, and seven from men's cross country.

HONORS: Mountain West Scholar-Athlete (2013); Academic All-WAC (2012).
UTAH STATE: Has great ball skills, runs extremely well and has long arms... Has made outstanding progress switching from wide receiver in high school to linebacker in college.
2013 (SO): Played in just five games during the season due to injury and had one tackle against Weber State (9/14).
2012 (RS-FR): Played in 11 games... Finished the season with six tackles (2-solo, 4-assist)... Recorded his first career sack against New Mexico State (10/20)... Had a season-high two tackles against NMSU... Also had tackles against UNLV (9/30), UTSA (10/27), Louisiana Tech (11/17) and Idaho (11/24)... Earned academic all-WAC honors.
2011 (RS): Redshirted during his first season at Utah State.
HIGH SCHOOL: Named first-team 5A-I Fiesta all-region and earned honorable mention 5A all-state honors at Chandler (Ariz.) High School... Was the top receiving threat for the Wolves, helping them post a 7-4 record, catching 46 passes for 867 yards and six touchdowns during senior season... Named by The Arizona Republic as the third-best wide receiver in the state prior to the 2010 season after catching 24 passes for 440 yards and three touchdowns as a junior, helping Chandler HS to the state semifinals... Also was Arizona state 5A high jump champion, clearing 6'8"... Ranked among the top 50 high jumpers in the nation... Finished third in the state in high jump as a junior... A member of the Chandler HS National Honor Society.
PERSONAL: Son of Eugene and Anthonia Okonkwo... Has three sisters and one brother... Graduated from USU in the spring of 2014 with a degree in finance and is pursuing his master's in financial economics... Attended the same high school as current Aggie teammates in sophomore safety Devin Centers and sophomore quarterback Darell Garretson... Last name is pronounced Oh-konk-wo.
