In all, approximately 51 percent of USU's student-athletes earned a 3.2 GPA to qualify for the awards.

Along with handing out individual awards, a highlight video recapping the year was shown, as was a video honoring USU's senior class, which tied the 1962 senior class for the most wins in school history with 26.

Utah State Has 52 Student-Athletes Receive Fall Academic All-WAC Honors

Of its 52 academic all-WAC selections, Utah State had 18 student-athletes from football honored, along with 11 student-athletes from soccer, eight from both women's cross country and volleyball, and seven from men's cross country.

HONORS: Academic All-WAC/MW (2011, 2012, 2013).

2013 (JR): Served as the team's long snapper in all 14 games... Finished the season with one special teams tackles at No. 24 Fresno State in the inaugural Mountain West Championship game... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors.

2012 (SO): Served as the team's long snapper in all 13 games... Finished the season with five special teams tackles (2-solo, 3-assist), including a career-high two stop against Utah (9/7)... Earned academic all-WAC honors.

2011 (RS-FR): Played in all 13 games as the long snapper on all of USU's punts, extra points and field goals... Had solid season and steadily continued to improve... One of 19 true or redshirt freshmen long-snappers in the country in 2011... Earned academic all-WAC honors.

2010 (RS): Redshirted during his first season at Utah State.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned Utah Class 3AA second-team all-state honors at linebacker as a senior at Pine View (Utah) High School... Earned first-team all-region honors and was selected as a Dixie Rotary Bowl All-Star... Was also long snapper for three seasons... Registered 95 tackles and forced seven fumbles in just eight games... Was named his team's defensive MVP as a senior.

PERSONAL: Son of Grant and Christina Needham... Married Morgan McDonald in December of 2010... Served a two-year LDS Church Mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil from 2008-09... Graduated from Utah State with a degree in exercise science.
