Robert Conley is entering his first season on Gary Andersen's staff, serving as the offensive graduate assistant.
Conley, a four-year starting offensive lineman at the University of Utah, will be the offensive graduate assistant.
Before USU, Conley was a graduate assistant at Midwestern State University for one season, working with the Mustangs' tight ends. Conley helped MSU to an 8-4 mark, including a perfect 5-0 home mark. The Mustangs also played in the Kanza Bowl as the top team in the Lone Star Conference to not make the NCAA Division II playoffs.
With Utah State, Conley will assist the offensive coaches with daily football operations, primarily working with USU offensive coordinator Dave Baldwin and the Aggie offensive line, working with USU offensive line coach T.J. Woods.
Conley started 42-straight games at right guard for the Utes from 2005-08, and played in 50 career games. He was a three-time all-Mountain West Conference honoree, including earning first-team accolades as a senior. Conley was a third-team All-American in 2008 by Rivals.com.
Conley helped Utah to four bowl wins during his time there. In 2008, Conley helped guide the Utes to a 13-0 record as they finished the season ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press poll after winning the BCS Sugar Bowl with a dominating 31-17 victory against Alabama. Conley also helped Utah to the 2007 Poinsettia Bowl, the 2006 Armed Forces Bowl and the 2005 Emerald Bowl.
In 2007, Conley posted a season-best 90% grade by a Ute offensive lineman. He also won the team's Iron Ute and Top Offensive Lineman awards.
A native of La Marque, Texas, Conley was a first-team all-state, all-district and all-county as a senior in 2003 at La Marque HS, helping the Cougars to the 2003 4A Division II State Championship. In his senior season, he tallied 68 pancake blocks. Conley also lettered in power-lifting in the 465-pound bench and 700-pound squat. Out of competition, Conley was also a member of the Who's Who Among Young Americans.
Conley earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Utah in 2008.
