Position:
Wide Receivers

Experience:
Fourth Season

Alma Mater:
Eastern Oregon, 1992

Entering his fourth season as wide receivers coach is Greg Stevens, overseeing a group that will need to replace the Aggies' career receptions leader in All-American Kevin Robinson.

The wide receiver/returner left USU with his name scattered throughout the school record book, including atop the career receptions list, as well as the NCAA record book, finishing as the NCAA career yards per play record holder.

This season, Stevens will oversee talented veterans Otis Nelson, Xavier Bowman, Nnamdi Gwacham and Omar Sawyer, in addition to redshirt freshmen Stanley Morrison and Austin Alder, as well as junior college transfer Tremel Kline. Morrison has already garnered preseason attention, being named Athlon Sports "Rising Star."

Stevens was also the interim offensive coordinator in 2006 when Mike Santiago resigned after four games.

Stevens came to USU after spending three years as the offensive coordinator at Stephen F. Austin. In his time with the Lumberjacks, Stevens directed an offense that led the Southland Conference in passing in 2002 and 2003 and ranked 36th in the country in 2004.

Prior to coaching at SFA, he was the offensive coordinator at Arkansas-Monticello for three years and established an offense that set more than 30 school records and was ranked among the nation's top five units.

Other coaching stops for Stevens include Mesa (Colo.) State (1992-94), Eastern Arizona (1995-97) and Snow (Utah) Junior College (1998).

Stevens, who grew up in Ephraim, Utah, played quarterback at Snow Junior College as well as at Eastern Oregon. He was an all-conference selection at Snow in 1989 and earned team MVP honors at Eastern Oregon in 1991.

"Greg grew up in Ephraim and has been an offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach during his career," said USU head coach Brent Guy. "He is a great asset to us in recruiting the state of Utah."

Stevens, who was born April 5, 1969 in Salmon, Idaho, is a 1992 Eastern Oregon graduate. He is married to the former Amy Steadman and they have three children, Tyler, Ryan and Hannah.
