Was named Mr. Football in the state of Utah by the Deseret News as a quarterback, but will probably be moved to defensive back at USU his freshman year... Was the Class 5A MVP... Was third in the state in rushing with 1,660 yards, while leading the state with 24 rushing touchdowns... Also passed for 664 yards and two touchdowns... Led Skyline to its fifth straight 5A Championship game and an 11-2 record his senior season... Skyline finished second in the state in his year as a starter... As a junior he saw limited playing time behind the 1999 Class 5A MVP in Brandon Van Leeuwen... Had a 4.0 grade point average in the fall... Played baseball as a sophomore... Born Jan. 11, 1983 in Denver, Colo... Son of Wynn and Chris Tate... Has one brother and two sisters... Would like to major in sports medicine or exercise science... Hobbies include playing golf and going camping... Grandfather played football at Utah.
