Utah State Recognizes 189 Student-Athletes At Annual Whitesides Luncheon

In all, approximately 51 percent of USU's student-athletes earned a 3.2 GPA to qualify for the awards.

Quickly: Provides the offensive line unit with size, talent and veteran experience.

Junior College: Earned first-team all-Region I honors and first-team all-Western States Football League accolades in helping the Gila Monsters to a 9-3 record and Salt City Bowl runner-up finish... Anchored an Eastern Arizona offensive line that led the WSFL in rushing with 3,560 (323.6 ypg), ranking fifth in total offense with 376.5 ypg... Was originally a walk-on at BYU in 2008, before transferring to Eastern Arizona.

High School: Was a two-time first-team 3A all-state honoree as both an offensive tackle and defensive end at Show Low HS, helping the Cougars to an undefeated season and 3A state championship as a junior... Also earned first-team all-conference accolades as a junior and senior... Was also a three-year letterwinner in wrestling, winning the state championship as a senior, compiling a 52-4 record... Finished sixth at the state meet as a junior, helping SLHS to the state title... Was also a three-year letterwinner in track & field.

Personal: Born Nov. 11, 1986 in Show Low, Ariz... Son of David and Gay Tenney... Has one sister and four brothers... Served an LDS Church Mission in Little Rock, Ark., from 2005-07... Plans on majoring in exercise science at Utah State... Chose USU because of coaching staff as well as campus and community environments.
