-- USU captains for Saturday were all from California: #4 JR WR Matt Austin (Monrovia, Calif.), #9 SR LB Bobby Wagner (Ontario, Calif.), #43 Kyle Gallagher (Woodland, Calif.) for the coin toss, while #6 JR RB Robert Turbin (Fremont, Calif.), SR CB #10 Chris Harris (Pasadena, Calif.), #37 SR DE Quinn Garner (Santa Cruz, Calif.) and SR OL #68 Philip Gapelu (Lynwood, Calif.) were off to the side.
-- Senior RB Michael Smith scored on his second pass play in as many games after a 53-yarder last week vs. Wyoming.
-- Smith's 46-yard rush gives Smith one rushing TD and one receiving TD in back-to-back games after he had two rushing and one receiving TD's last week vs. Wyoming.
-- Junior S McKade Brady registered his first career fumble recovery by recovering the FS fumble in the first quarter... It was the USU defense's fifth FR of the season... Brady's forced fumble in the second quarter was his second of his career.
-- Senior LB Kyle Gallagher's fumble recovery was not only his first fumble this season but also first of his career.
-- Senior WR Stanley Morrison's first-quarter catch gives him at least one reception in 30-straight games, which leads the WAC.
-- Senior WR Eric Moats has at least one catch in last six games and 28 of 30 career games... Junior WR Matt Austin has a catch in last seven career games played.
-- Junior RB Robert Turbin's 59-yard scoring scamper in the first quarter gives him a rushing TD in last 11 games played, and he has now rushed for at least 60 yards in last 12 games played.
-- With six points Saturday, Turbin now has moved into a tie for second on USU's Career Scoring list, moving past Abu Wilson (1992, 94-96) with 246 points and tying Tom Larscheid (1959-61) with 248 points... Turbin is now tied with Larscheid as the highest scoring non-kicker, as placekicker Brad Bohn holds the Aggies' scoring record with 284 points.
-- Turbin also moves up to take sole possession of No. 20 on the WAC's Career Rushing TD's list with 32 career rushing TD's.
-- Turbin's 145 yards are his fifth-straight 100-yard rushing outing and 13th of his career.
-- The 145 yards is Turbin's fourth-highest of his career.
-- The 4-play 94-yard scoring drive was USU's fifth scoring drive of 90+ yards this season (99, 91, 99, 90, and now 94)... Coming into the weekend, USU was tied with Georgia Tech for second-most 90+ yard scoring drives in the country behind Texas Tech's five.
-- The missed field goal in the first quarter was the first time this season that USU did not score in the red zone after converting on its previous 22 trips there this season.
-- It was also sophomore PK Josh Thompson's first FG miss of the season after making his previous four.
-- Junior RB/KR Kerwynn Williams' 52-yard second-quarter kick return was a season-long for the second-straight week after a 50-yarder last week vs. Wyoming.
-- USU led at the half for the fifth time in six games, and are now 1-4.
-- Wagner made his 33rd-consecutive start, along with his 38th start of his career overall, which leads USU in both categories.
-- Senior OL Philip Gapelu made his 29th-straight start and for the 34th time in his career, which ranks second in both departments.
