LOGAN, Utah -
-- Saturday was USU's fourth loss by one-score this season for a total of 15 points.
-- The Aggies are now 2-5 in WAC home openers, and 9-8 in their last 17 home conference openers.
-- Saturday was the fifth meeting between USU and LA Tech that was decided by one score in the nine total match-ups, and third in the last four (L 45-38 in 2008, W 23-21 in 2009, L 24-17 Saturday)... Last season's 24-6 LA Tech win was not only the lone non-one score game in that stretch, but also the largest in the series.
-- Junior RB Robert Turbin's first-quarter TD gives him 254 career points breaking a tie for the No. 2 spot on USU's Career Points List, taking over sole possession as the Aggies' highest scoring position player as placekicker Brad Bohn (1997-2000) holds the No. 1 spot with 284 career points.
-- It was Turbin's 33rd career rushing TD, closing in on the No. 2 spot on USU's Career Rushing TD's list held by Demario Brown (1996-99) with 37.
--Turbin's 254 points move him up to tie for No. 25 on the WAC's Career Points Scored list, tying LA Tech's Danny Horwedel (2004-07)... The 33 rushing TD's moves Turbin up to tie for No. 19 on the WAC Career Rushing TD list.
-- Saturday was the second time this season that USU was tied after the first quarter, as the Aggies' game against Colorado State was 0-0 after the first frame.
-- The 43-yard field goal by sophomore PK Josh Thompson in the second quarter was Thompson's career-long, bettering the 41-yarder from the Weber State game... Thompson is now 5-of-7 on FG's for the season.
-- USU led at the half for the sixth time in six games, and are now 1-5.
-- USU's 10 points in the first half Saturday were its second-lowest of the season, as the Aggies had seven points in the first half of the CSU game on Sept. 24.
-- The third-quarter INT thrown by freshman QB Chuckie Keeton was his first of the season, breaking a streak of 149-straight passes without an INT.
-- The INT return for a TD was the first by a USU opponent since LA Tech's Dominique Faust in 2008 at Ruston.
-- Keeton's 29-yard third-quarter TD run was a career long and was his fourth rushing TD of the season.
-- Senior WR Stanley Morrison now has one catch in 31-straight games, which leads the WAC.
-- Wagner started for the 34th-straight time in his career, making his 39th career start overall, both of which lead USU.
-- Senior OL Philip Gapelu made his 30th-consecutive start and his 35th overall of his career, ranking second on the team in both categories.
-- Junior RB Robert Turbin started for the 30th time of his career, but seventh since the 2009 season-finale after missing the entire 2010 season with an injury.
-- Utah State is now 24-of-26 (.923) in the red zone, scoring on both of its chances Saturday and have been perfect in six of the seven games this season, missing twice last week in the Fresno State game.
-- USU is now:
---- 3-6 vs. LA Tech overall, with LA Tech winning the last two meetings and six of the last seven.
---- 2-3 at Logan, splitting the last two
