MOSCOW, Idaho - For the first time since 2003, Utah State won back-to-back games after the Aggies were victorious over the Vandals of Idaho, 24-19, Saturday at UI's Kibbie Dome. It was USU's first consecutive road wins since 1999 as the Aggies end their season with a 2-10 record. Senior WR/KR Kevin Robinson set the NCAA career all-purpose yards per play record in the game as well.

Robinson also became the USU career receptions record holder with his 178th career catch, passing Kevin Curtis' record of 174 from 2000-01. For the game, Robinson had seven catches for 86 yards and a 6-yard TD catch, diving just inside the pylon. Robinson's TD catch was his 21st career TD reception, moving to a tie for 3rd on USU's career TD receptions list, tying Aaron Jones (1997-2000).

Senior QB/P Leon Jackson III broke his own school record for rushing yards by a QB (328 in his sophomore season of 2005 that he shared with Jerod Walker, also in 2005) on a 2-yard rush on USU's opening drive and ends the season with 338.

Jackson also had two rushing TD's for the Aggies, his fifth and sixth rushing TD's this season. Those are the most rushing TD's for a USU QB since Matt Sauk had six in 1997. The six rushing TD's are the most for a USU individual since David Fiefia's seven rushing TD's in 2003.

He also set a school record for single-season completion percentage (65.4 - 151-of-231), topping the previous mark of 60.2 by Eric Hipple in 1979.

Utah State hung on from a 24-10 lead early in the third quarter. After having a 10:04 - 4:56 time of possession advantage in the third quarter, the Aggies were out-possessed 11:35 - 3:25 in the fouth, as Idaho scored 10 points, the last on a TD with 5:42 to play. The USU defense survived a fourth-and-seven attempt from its own 24 as Idaho QB Nathan Enderle's pass was incomplete, turning the ball over to the Aggies with 1:39 on the clock.

 

 

Jackson ended the game 11-of-15 for 118 yards and one TD passing, as well as 14 rushes for 11 yards and two TD's.

Freshman TB Derrvin Speight had 57 rushing yards on 15 carries, while fellow freshman TB Curtis Marsh had eight carries for 42 yards, including a new career-long of 26.

Senior FB/TE Jimmy Bohm, who entered the game with 13 career yards on seven career carries, more than tripled his career yardage with 41 yards on six carries, including career longs of 13 and 14 yards.

USU was out-gained by Idaho, 428 to 272 in total offense, as the Aggies had 154 yards rushing and 118 passing. Idaho had 237 yards rushing and 191 passing.

--Utah State won back-to-back games for the first time in the WAC and the first time overall since 2003.

--The Aggies won consecutive games on the road for the first time since 1999.

--USU tied the all-time series with Idaho at 16-16-2, snapping a three-game losing streak at Moscow as the Aggies are now 8-9-1 on the Vandals' turf.

--Utah State improves to 10-7 in its last 17 season-finales and 43-64-3 all-time in the final game of the season.

--Senior WR/KR Kevin Robinson had his 400th career play with a 6-yard catch in the second quarter, making him the NCAA's Career All-Purpose Yards Per Play Record Holder... Robinson now has a 16.16 average, topping the previous record of 15.8 by Troy Edwards of Louisiana Tech (1996-98).

--Robinson tied the USU school record for career receptions with his 174th catch on a 10-yard catch on the Aggies' opening drive... Robinson then broke the record with his 10-yard catch on USU's second drive... The previous record was held by Kevin Curtis (2000-01), currently with the Philadelphia Eagles... Robinson ends his career with 178.

--Senior LG Shawn Murphy and junior C Ryan Tonnemacher made their team-leading 24th straight starts while sophomore LB Paul Igboeli made his 20th consecutive start... Senior RG Pace Jorgensen made his team-leading 38th career start while Robinson made his 33rd career start.

--Senior QB/P Leon Jackson III broke his own school record for rushing yards by a QB (328 in his sophomore season of 2005 that he shared with Jerod Walker, also in 2005) on a 2-yard rush on USU's opening drive.

--The 14-play scoring drive on the Aggies' opening score was the second-longest drive this season behind an 18-play drive vs. San Jose State (Sept. 22).

--Sophomore LB Paul Igboeli's fumble recovery in the first quarter was the sixth recovered fumble of the season for the USU defense.

--Jackson's two rushing TD's were the fifth and sixth rushing TD's this season... Those are the most rushing TD's for a USU QB since Matt Sauk had six in 1997.

--The six rushing TD's are the most for a USU individual since David Fiefia's seven rushing TD's in 2003.

--With senior DE Carl Singleton's sacks in the second and third quarters, he now has USU's last five sacks and six of the last eight... Singleton leads the team with 6.5 sacks on the season.

--Sophomore SS James Brindley's interception in the second quarter and junior S Roy Hurst's INT in the fourth quarter are now tied for the team lead with three each on the season... The three INT's is the most for a USU individual since Cornelius Lamb had three in 2004.

--Brindley's pick, sophomore CB Geno Odong's first career INT at the end of the first half, and Hurst's INT now give the USU defense 15 oskies this season, the most since 19 in 1994.

--USU's defense now has at least one INT in nine of the 12 games this season, the most since at least 1992.

--Senior FB/TE Jimmy Bohm's 13-yard rush in the second quarter was a career-long and matched his previous career total of 13 yards rushing on seven carries.

--Robinson's TD catch in the second quarter was his 21st career TD reception, moving to a tie for 3rd on USU's career TD receptions list, tying Aaron Jones (1997-2000)... It was his 29th career TD overall, moving him to sole possession of No. 5 on the USU career TD list, pulling away from a tie with Kendal Smith (1985-88) with 28.

--Robinson's 86 yards receiving give him 2,485 for his career, moving to No. 3 on USU's career receiving yards, passing both Rod Moore (1988-91) with 2,422 and Nakia Jenkins (1996-97) with 2,483.

--Jackson's TD pass to Robinson in the second quarter was Jackson's ninth of the season, also a single-season personal best, topping the eight TD passes from his sophomore season of 2005 and the most TD passes for a USU QB since Travis Cox had 10 TD passes in 2004.

--Freshman K Pete Caldwell's FG at the end of the first half was his second half-ending FG of the season (UNLV on Aug. 30) and was the fourth time this season that a USU game has had a FG as the last play of the half (by Oklahoma on Sept. 15, by Utah on Sept. 29).

--Freshman TB Curtis Marsh's 26-yard rush in the third quarter was a career-long, topping his previous long of 15 set last week at New Mexico State.

--Utah State led after three quarters for the second game in a row and the fourth time this season, the Aggies are 1-2 in their previous leads to start the fourth quarter.

--Jackson set a school record for single-season completion percentage (65.4 - 151-of-231), topping the previous mark of 60.2 by Eric Hipple in 1979.

--Jackson also moved into No. 7 on USU's career passing list with 4,221 yards, moving past Ron Lopez's 4,182 yards (1990-91).

--Jackson ends his career with 5,035 yards of total offense, becoming the seventh player in USU history to reach the 5,000-yard milestone.

--The four turnovers by Idaho is a single-game season-high for the USU defense.
