Utah State Post-Game Notes - USU at New Mexico State

-- Utah State has seven wins in a season for the first time since 1993, when the Humanitarian Bowl win was the Aggies' seventh of the season.

-- It is USU's first seven-win regular season since 1979, when the Aggies were 7-3-1.

-- Overall, it is USU's 21st time in 113 seasons of football of having at least seven wins.

-- It is Utah State's fifth win in a row, the Aggies' first five-game win streak since 1993.

-- The Aggies' improve to 5-2, USU's most WAC wins in the seven years in the league, and the best conference mark since a 4-1 Big West record in 2000 and first five conference win season since 1993.

-- Saturday was USU's third-straight road win, the first three-game win streak away from home, winning the last two road games of the regular-season and the Las Vegas Bowl.

-- The Aggies' 392 rushing yards was a FBS-opponent season high behind the 440 vs. Weber State.

-- Saturday was the 11th-best rushing output in school history.

-- With 392 rushing yards, it gives USU 3,330 rushing yards on the season, a new school record, bettering the previous mark of 3,120 set in 1960.

-- Saturday was USU's ninth game this season decided by one score. The nine games is now the most in the the country for one-score games, pulling away from a tie with Kansas State and Miami (Fla.) with eight.

-- It was Utah State's fourth win this season with less than a minute or no time on the clock, joining the Aggies' wins at Hawai'i, at Idaho and home vs. San Jose State. The TD with 35 seconds left ranks No. 10 in USU's last-minutes game-winning scores since 1991 list. It was also Utah State's second last-minute win over New Mexico State in that span, as USU beat NMSU, 45-44 in OT in 2002.

-- Saturday's win was the Aggies' first on grass in three games (Auburn and BYU.

-- Saturday's captains were #9 SR LB Bobby Wagner and #6 JR RB Robert Turbin.



-- Senior LB Bobby Wagner made his 39th-consecutive start and made his 44th start overall, leading USU in both departments.

-- Junior RB Robert Turbin started for the 35th time of his career, but 12th since the 2009 season-finale after missing the entire 2010 season with an injury.

-- Sophomore DE Conner Williams made his first career start.

-- Senior WR Stanley Morrison's first-quarter reception was Morrison's 36th-straight game with a catch, extending his WAC-best streak.

-- Senior WR Eric Moats also now has at least one catch in 11 of last 12 games and 32 of 35 games played in career.

-- The second-quarter TD toss from junior QB Adam Kennedy to junior RB Robert Turbin marks the sixth-straight game with a TD pass for the USU offense.

-- It was Kennedy's eighth TD pass this season

-- Turbin caught his fourth TD catch of the year and 11th of his career.

-- Turbin now has 51 total TD's for his career, moving to a tie for No. 6 on the WAC's Career Total TD list, tying John Harvey (1985-88) of nearby UTEP with 51... Turbin also passed Harvey on the WAC's Career Points List for the No. 13 spot as Turbin now has 308 career points, passing Harvey's 306.

-- Junior WR Matt Austin now has at least one catch in 13-straight games.

-- Senior LB Kyle Gallagher snared his first INT of not only the season, but his career as well.

-- USU now has three interceptions on the season, and all three are by linebackers, as Wagner leads the team with two oskies.

-- After trailing at halftime in three of the last four games, winning all three games, USU led at intermission for the eighth time this season, and is now 3-5 when doing so.

-- Saturday was just the second time this season that USU was held scoreless in the third quarter, joining the Fresno State game.

-- USU was tied after three quarters for the third time this season and the navy Aggies are now 2-1.

-- Senior RB Michael Smith's 121 rushing yards were a new career-high.

-- The three TD passes by Adam Kennedy were a season-high and his fourth multi-TD pass outing in the last five games.

-- USU is now:
---- 7-5 overall and 5-2 in the WAC
---- 29-7 overall vs. NMSU including 16-3 at Las Cruces
---- 37-18 record against teams from New Mexico
---- 19-11 in games played on New Mexico soil
---- 6-12 in December
---- 1-1 in games played on Dec. 3
---- 6-4 in last 10 season-finales, winning six of last eight
---- 46-65-3 all-time in season-finales
