Utah State Football Players Help Lead West All-Stars To 40-7 Win In Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State football players Matt Austin, Kellen Bartlett and Al Lapuaho helped lead the West All-Stars to a 40-7 win in the second annual Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game played at Kino Stadium in Tucson, Ariz., Friday night.
Utah State senior linebacker Bojay Filimoeatu, a 6-1, 258-pounder from West Valley City, Utah (Granger HS/Mt. San Antonio JC) was also scheduled to participate in the game for the West All-Stars, but hurt his knee in practice during the week leading up to the game.
Austin, a 6-2, 202-pound senior wide receiver from Monrovia, Calif. (Charter Oak HS/Mt. San Antonio JC) had a team-high three receptions for 23 yards, including a long reception of 12 yards. In fact, Austin's three receptions were tied with two players from the East All-Stars roster for game-high honors.
Bartlett, a 6-2, 248-pound senior tight end from Blue Springs, Mo. (Blue Springs HS) had one reception for 19 yards, and Lapuaho, a 6-3, 284-pound senior defensive lineman from West Valley City, Utah (Granger HS/Snow College) finished the game with one tackle and one pass breakup.
The 2013 Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game is the second annual post-season football exhibition of draft eligible college seniors. The game provides a platform for selected, elite athletes to showcase their talents to scouts from the NFL, CFL and Arena teams. In the inaugural Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game in 2012, 67 players were signed to NFL contracts.
