Elliott Tupea To Play In Las Vegas All Star Game Saturday
Jan. 20, 2005
LOGAN, Utah - Utah State offensive lineman Elliott Tupea will participate in Saturday's Las Vegas All-America Classic football game. The all-star game, which will take place at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net at 2 p.m. mountain time.
Tupea was one of two Aggies invited to the game as linebacker Robert Watts will not play due to an injury. Tupea, a 6-2, 311-pound offensive lineman from West Valley City, Utah, started at four different positions on the offensive line during his two-year Aggie career.
This past season, Tupea started the first seven games of the year at center before starting one game at left guard and the final three games at right guard. As a junior in 2003, he started 10 games at right tackle.
Prior to coming to Utah State, Tupea was a two-time all-conference selection at Dixie State Junior College as well as a two-time all-state pick at Hunter High School in West Valley City, Utah.
The players arrived in Las Vegas last Saturday and underwent written and physical testing by NFL scouts on Sunday and Monday before practicing the rest of the week for the game.
